St. Brigid's of Ireland Church, Sullia, organized a Liturgy Formation and Training Programme on Sunday, August 2, to deepen the faithful's understanding of the Sacred Liturgy and encourage active participation in the Holy Eucharist.
The programme began with the Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Alwin Edward D'Cunha, Parish Priest, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Rohit D'Costa, Director of Mangala Jyothi – Diocesan Biblical, Catechetical and Liturgical Centre, Mangalore. During his homily, Fr. Rohit explained the importance of the Holy Eucharist, the Word of God, the sacredness of the sanctuary, and active, prayerful participation in the Mass.
Welcoming the gathering, Rev. Fr. Alwin Edward D'Cunha thanked Fr. Rohit for conducting the programme and encouraged everyone to deepen their love for the Church's liturgy.
During the interactive session, Fr. Rohit highlighted the significance of active participation in the Holy Mass, the liturgical calendar, and proper proclamation of the Word of God with prayerful preparation and clear understanding.
An exhibition and stall of liturgical and biblical materials organized by the Mangala Jyothi staff provided participants with valuable learning opportunities.
The programme was attended by the Ursuline Sisters, Parish Council members, lectors, catechism teachers, choir members, liturgy committee members, and parishioners. Mrs. Anita Mascarenhas delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the programme.
