Kinnigoli, July 12, 2026: A Liturgical Formation Programme for lectors was organised at Kinnigoli Parish on July 12, with the participation of 185 faithful.
During the Holy Eucharist, Fr. Rohith D'Costa, Secretary, Commission for Liturgy, Diocese of Mangalore, highlighted the significance of the Sacred Liturgy and explained the various parts of the Eucharistic celebration. He encouraged the faithful to participate in the Mass with greater understanding, devotion, and active involvement.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, a formation session was conducted for the parish lectors. Fr. Rohith D'Costa provided practical training on the ministry of proclaiming the Word of God, focusing on the spiritual preparation of the lector, proper proclamation techniques, voice modulation, posture, and reverence while exercising the ministry during the liturgy.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, enabling participants to clarify their doubts and deepen their understanding of their liturgical ministry.
Fr. Joachim Fernandes, Parish Priest, was present for the programme and expressed his appreciation to the participants for their enthusiastic response to the formation initiative.
