Mangaluru, July 5, 2026: The Diocese of Mangalore conducted its Annual Meeting and Training Programme for 88 Parish Sunday Catechism Coordinators at the Mangala Jyothi Pastoral Centre on the theme "Synodal Approaches in Catechesis."
The resource person, Rev. Fr. Vijay Machado, Executive Secretary of the CCBI Commission for Faith Formation, spoke on contemporary catechetical methodology, synodal approaches, and the pastoral insights of Pope Leo's encyclical Magnifica Humanitas.
Rev. Fr. Rohith D'Costa, Director of the Diocesan Commission for Faith Formation, led the annual evaluation of parish catechetical activities through group discussions and presented the guidelines and action plan for the catechism year 2026–2027.
The programme concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, concelebrated by Fr. Vijay Machado and Fr. Rohith D'Costa, who expressed appreciation to the Parish Priests, religious, parish coordinators, and catechists for their dedicated service in the ministry of faith formation.
